County loader stolen in Graeagle recovered
A front-end loader belonging to the Plumas County Department of Public Works stolen from the Graeagle yard has been recovered.
An unidentified person took the 2002 Caterpillar 928 G from the yard sometime between Monday, March 11, after 4:30 p.m., and 7 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, according to Public Works Deputy Director Joe Blackwell. The thief crashed through a gate at the facility during his escape with the loader.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office completed a report on the theft. The loader, which carried a round, green Plumas County emblem and its number on both sides, was discovered on a dirt road outside of Graeagle sometime Thursday, March 14.
No monetary damages were done to the loader, according to Blackwell.
The sheriff’s office is continuing its efforts to find the suspect.
