County officials to be sworn in Jan. 5; first board meeting of 2023 to follow

The swearing in of newly elected officials will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 9 a.m. in the foyer of the courthouse.  While there will be some individuals taking the oath of office for a new term, District Attorney David Hollister will be sworn in for the fourth time, while newly elected District 3 Supervisor Tom McGowan will be sworn in for his first term in office.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors will meet for the first time in 2023 at 10 a.m. in the third floor boardroom. The agenda lists several items including: electing a new chairman and vice chair; transferring payroll responsibilities from the Auditor to Human Resources; relocating Human Resources to the county’s building on East Main Street that formerly housed Probation; adopting the new minimum wage of $15.50 per hour and approving the county’s new pay schedule; and more.
