CPRPD youth basketball sign-ups ending soon
The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District’s youth basketball league sign-ups are wrapping up.
The registration deadline for third through eighth-grade basketball is Friday, Nov. 1. Any signups after the Nov. 1 deadline will incur a $15 late fee, and are not guaranteed a spot.
“We encourage everybody to sign up by the registration deadline. Traditionally we have many parents sign up after the deadline has passed, but we cannot guarantee that option will be available this year as we transition to a new process for league formation. We encourage all parents to please complete registration by the deadline to ensure your child’s spot in the league,” stated Recreation Supervisor Kyle Stone.
The league is open to third- through eighth-grade boys and girls. Volunteer coaches and assistants are needed in all divisions, and will teach basketball fundamentals, skills and concepts while promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship.
The third- through fourth-grade league will have practices and games on weeknights at Quincy High School.
Meanwhile, the fifth- through eighth-grade leagues will be competing in a league with Portola, Loyalton, Chester, Indian Valley and Downieville. They will practice on weeknights at Quincy High School and play games on Saturdays at each of the participating sites.
Registration is available at the District Office, 34 Fairground Road, or online at cprpd.com under the “Programs and Activities” page.
