CPUD to chlorinate and flush its drinking water system over next several days

The Chester Public Utility District will begin chlorinating and flushing its drinking water distribution system this week. The work is expected to last up to 10 days. There is no harm to CPUD water customers and there is currently no boil water advisory. The chlorinating and flushing are being performed out of an abundance of caution after reviewing some recent test results of our drinking water in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board. Residents may find that their water has a slight chlorine smell and may also observe that fire hydrants throughout Chester will be discharging water. Concerned customers can call the CPUD office at 258-2171 with any questions.
