UPDATE: Crews head to fire north of Taylorsville — couldn’t find new start
UPDATE 1 p.m.: Crews were unable to find the smoke/fire that was reported earlier today by a camper. Helicopters and ground crews searched but were unable to locate it and determined that it was likely interior smoke lingering from the Iron Fire that is contained. Even when a fire is contained, spots can still within the containment area and throw off smoke.
The Forest Service is reporting that resources are headed to a fire that is burning north of the Iron Fire north of Taylorsville. Four engines are headed that way, and air resources will be added if necessary. There are no structures in the vicinity.
The Iron Fire, which has been contained for several days, had caused evacuations for portions of Taylorsville early last week. It was held at 50 acres.
