David Lee Hamlin
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our father, David Lee Hamlin, Dave Hamlin as most knew him, on June 28, 2023 at the age of 66 at his home in Graeagle Meadows. Dave was born in the Bay Area, December 31, 1956. He was a beloved father, friend, a realtor, golfer, Raider fan and a huge dog lover. Dave will be fondly remembered for his kind and loving heart, generous spirit, and his quick-witted humor.
As a young teen in the ’60s, Dave spent his summers at Camp Layman with his beloved grandparents, Archie & Lillian Hamlin, fishing the Feather River and golfing the local links, which became a life long passion of his.
After attending Chico State and Pepperdine University, Dave and his wife, Debbie, decided to move to Graeagle, CA, in 1990 to start their family and take over the running of the Graeagle Meadows Vacation Rental Office from his grandfather, Archie. As the property manager, he really loved serving his community, carrying on the Hamlin tradition, as a hospitality provider. He became the “face” of Graeagle Meadows and as many put it, “much more than just a property manager,” he was a friend to all who knew him. Many owners and guests would often look forward to coming to the office to chat with Dave about life, travel, history, real estate, etc.
Dave was an avid golfer for years and spent many summers at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course and Whitehawk Ranch Golf Course playing 9 or 18 holes of golf to end his day, He was also a true Raider football fan, attended many games throughout his lifetime, regular season, playoffs, and championship games. Black and silver all the way.
Dave is survived by his two daughters, Jessica Hamlin of New Orleans, LA, and Allison Hamlin of Santa Barbara, CA. He is also survived by his half sister, Rachel Locricchio and half brother, Eric Hamlin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
I met Dave when our family stayed at Graeagle Meadows starting in 1979. Although my parents passed 10+ yes ago, I have kept our annual July tradition every year since then.
Dave was always a joy to speak with and was very accommodating to our needs, as well as others.
I just checked in today and sad to learn that Dave passed away a few weeks ago. I will always remember Dave as I do my parents every year we return.

I met Dave when he took over for Archie at Graeagle Meadows. We commiserated many, many times over the years about a common issue we both faced.
I don’t know what made me check the local paper after leaving Plumas County 12 years ago. I am so saddened to hear this news. Good friend, honest Realtor, wonderful father. I hope that he and Archie are sharing laughs and life experiences together again
Dave was a gentle soul who made one feel welcomed and important anytime my wife and I had the chance to visit with him in or out of his office. Rest in peace Dave.
