Dec. 26: Plumas announces 12 new cases

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced this afternoon, Dec. 26, that there are 12 additional coronavirus cases. This includes cases from Dec. 24 through today.

Following is the breakdown:

Three residents from the Western Region (Chester/Lake Almanor)

One resident from the Northern Region (Greenville/Indian Valley)

Six residents from the Southern Region (Quincy/American Valley)

Two residents in the Eastern Region (Portola/Graeagle)

Contact tracing is underway and if an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening.

The current total of confirmed coronavirus cases is 455, with 55 of those active. There have been two deaths to date, both from the Western Region.

While case counts continue to rise, the first vaccinations are being given across the county at the three local hospitals.
