Diesel spill

The Quincy Volunteer Fire Department’s Hazmat, CalTrans and the Plumas County Road Department responded to a 200-gallon diesel fuel spill at the Fuel Star Mobile Gas Station and Food Mart  Wednesday, at 6 a.m.  The spill was contained to the immediate area and a nearby creek was not threatened. The company that was hauling the diesel fuel is sending in a clean-up crew, according to Quincy Fire Chief Robbie Cassou. Although the mini mart is open, it is not pumping fuel until the clean-up is complete. The cause of the spill is under investigation. Photo by Michael Taborski
