Donors needed for Quincy blood drive Wednesday

The second day of the Quincy blood drive is Wednesday, June 7, and there still are several available afternoon appointments. Walk-ins are also welcome!

Drive coordinator Elizabeth Smailes says that while there are several afternoon slots that still aren’t filled, donors can come anytime between 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., and the Vitalant staff will fit you in.

The Plumas Hospital Volunteers are sponsoring this drive, and they invite you to sample their delicious homemade cookies after you donate blood!

But another incentive is the ongoing shortage of blood needed by hospitals to care for cancer patients, newborns, and victims of accidents. Your donation is both appreciated and vital.

The drive is held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the corner of Bucks Lake Road and Bellamy Lane just west of the hospital. Hope to see you there!
