On Aug. 20, 2021, at approximately 4:08 p.m. Dale E. Wolf, 44, of Susanville, was driving a black 1997 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Hwy. 70, west of Railroad Street, near Spring Garden, at approximately 55 mph.
According to the CHP report, due to Wolf’s alleged level of alcohol intoxication, he allowed the Jeep to veer north across Hwy. 70 and up a dirt embankment bordering the north shoulder. After driving up the embankment, the Jeep overturned onto its left side.
Quincy CHP units and Plumas County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene at approximately 4:22 pm. Two occupants, a male and a female, were reported to be out of the Jeep with head injuries. The male, later identified as Dale Wolf, was reportedly agitated and brandishing a firearm. Responding units conducted a “high risk” stop and took Wolf into custody without incident.
After obtaining statements from the two occupants, as well as witnesses at the scene, a DUI investigation was conducted and Wolf was arrested for DUI as well as possession of a loaded firearm. He was taken to Plumas District Hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. The female occupant was not arrested, and was taken to Plumas District Hospital with minor injuries.
