Election Day: Plumas has 47 percent turnout thus far

It’s Election Day, Nov. 8, and  Plumas County Clerk Recorder Marcy DeMartile said that the county currently has a 47 percent voter turnout.

“We are processing many, many ballots that were returned yesterday through the ballot drop box in front of the courthouse, as well as hundreds received in the mail,” DeMartile said this morning.

The election office is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p..m for voters to come in and return their ballot, or obtain a replacement ballot if needed if they did not receive the original ballot. The office is located on the first floor of the county courthouse.

Although postmarks are acceptable on returned ballots, they must be postmarked by election day and received by the elections office within seven (7) business days in order to be processed.

The unofficial final results will be posted to the County website tonight after approximately 8:30 pm as well as here on Plumas News.

“Please do not hesitate to contact our office at 530-283-6256 for further information and/or clarification,” DeMartile said.
