Gold Discovery Days

Plumas-Eureka State Park Association (PESPA) is proud to announce the highly anticipated “Gold Discovery Days” event, on Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16 at 10am-3pm. Take a trip back to California’s historic gold rush era at the foot of Eureka Peak in Johnsville, California. Family-friendly events include wagon rides, gold panning, blacksmith and woodworking demos, children’s archeological dig, and guided tours of the Assay Office and Moriarty family cabin. Explore the museum full of period photos and artifacts, guided hike to the original gold discovery site, make candles, learn to spin wool, and take a photo in period attire for this year’s holiday card. Games, prizes, and all events are FREE! Rotary-sponsored pancake breakfast including live music and raffle fundraiser on Sunday from 8-11. BBQ lunch available on both Saturday and Sunday, provided by the Graeagle Lions Club.
