Feather River Tourism Association bestows first event grant

The Feather River Tourism Association (FRTA) has approved its first event grant — for $2,500 — and gave it to Mark Reynolds of Bear Creek Frames for the Lost Sierra 1st Annual Plein Air Art Festival. Event grants that are approved through FRTA must increase lodging stays because lodging providers provide the funding through a 2 percent assessment. The first round of event grants are open until June 15, but there will be a second round in October. Shoulder season grants (October-May) are the most desirable but others will be considered.
