Firewise meeting focuses on evacuation planning, distributes helpful information
Evacuation plan – every household should have one — as last year’s fires underscored. Between the Dixie Fire and the Beckwourth Complex, there was only a handful of areas that didn’t experience some type of evacuation order. Now is the time to be prepared, with hopefully no need to put the evacuation plan in place. During the Quincy Firesafe Council meeting Wednesday evening, speakers Pamella Courtright, from the county’s Office of Emergency Services, and Lori Beatley, from Plumas County Public Health, spoke about evacuation preparedness. They also provided a couple of documents to help individuals prepare, which are included below.
