Flash flood warnings, debris flow issued for Eastern Plumas and Sierra counties

NOAA issued a warning this afternoon at 1:27 p.m. for the potential for minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas near area burn scars. The alert has been issued until 4:30 p.m. today for Eastern Plumas and Sierra counties, as well as Lassen.

Trained weather spotters report that one-half to one inch of rain has fallen in the eastern portion of the Dixie Fire burn scar and the Beckwourth Complex burn scar. These are the areas most likely to experience flooding and debris flows. The public is warned to use caution in those areas.
