Four-year-old boy wounded following accidental discharge of a firearm
The call came in as a gunshot wound just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 14, and Plumas County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded to an apartment unit in the Quincy area.
According to a press release issued today, Aug. 15, about the incident, an accidental discharge of a firearm injured a four-year-old boy living in the residence. The child was taken to Plumas District Hospital for treatment of a wound to his abdomen and was subsequently airlifted to Renown Medical Center, for further medical treatment.
The investigation led to the arrest of Jason M. Gilliam of Quincy for felony child endangerment and criminal storage of a firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
