Feather River College announced this evening, Oct. 6, that one of its students received confirmation of a positive COVID test late last night. The student was mildly symptomatic and unvaccinated. The student chose to return to their hometown out of the county during the self-isolation timeframe. The student did attend classes last week as well as this week and instructors have been notified. This case is unrelated to the other cases reported earlier this week involving two employees.
Due to the current uptick in local cases, the Athletics Department is making testing available more often than the required once-a-week testing currently in place. FRC tests approximately 200 students every week with any positive cases referred to PDH or local health providers for further follow-up testing.
