FRC & community send volleyball team off in style to state championship

If you were wondering what the sirens were near downtown Quincy this afternoon, Dec. 1, there is no need to be alarmed. Downtown Quincy quickly came to life when the sights and sounds of fire engines, CHP vehicles, Feather River College athletic buses, and a caravan of volleyball personnel made their way through town.

The FRC volleyball team is heading to the state championships in Fresno this weekend to compete for yet another state title for the prestigious program. The Golden Eagles will take the court on Friday night at 7 p.m. against the College of the Canyons. If they win, they will progress through the bracket, and hopefully, end up in the championship match on Sunday.

You can find all information regarding the bracket and match times on the CCCAA Championships website. Needless to say, this has been an exciting fall season for the Feather River College Athletic programs, and winning a state championship could be the perfect way to end such a stellar fall season of sports for the small, but mighty local college!
