Hard to believe the Feather River College (FRC) football program is already 20 years old. This program has come a long way since its inception, and much of that is due to the strategic and competitive Athletic department. There have been many coaches, staff, personnel, and student-athletes who have contributed to the success of this program along the way, and many of these folks will be in attendance this Saturday, Oct. 1 to celebrate the program turning 20 years old. Kick-off is 1 p.m.
FRC hosts West Hills College this Saturday at 1:00pm at Brenna Stadium. There will be free foam footballs given away to all children in attendance, so bring the whole family. In addition, Tom Casey, former FRC football coach, will honor Feather River College’s 2002 inaugural football team at halftime with a short speech. If you have supported the FRC football program over these past 20 years, please do come out and attend this special game to help join in the reminiscing.
The current FRC football squad is shaping up to be quite the competitive bunch and living up to their high expectations after winning the American Championship Bowl last year. As it stands, the Golden Eagles hold the current longest winning streak among California Community College football programs by maintaining a stellar 14-0 record dating back to the start of last season. Come on out Saturday, enjoy some sunshine and fall football with what is sure to be a great game!
