Friends of the Chester Library hosts second annual Author Celebration Tea

After a two-year hiatus, the Friends of the Chester Library are pleased to announce that their second annual Author Celebration Tea will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Almanor Recreation Center on Meadowbrook Loop in Chester.

The featured author will again be Jane Austen, and the special guest presenter will be Margot Melcon, co-author of the stage play trilogy “Christmas at Pemberley.” The event will be catered by Carol Franchetti of Carol’s Café.

There will be door prizes and two beautifully-filled baskets for raffle. The “Italian Basket” is currently on display at Plumas Bank, where tickets are available for purchase. The winning ticket will be drawn at the tea, but the winner need not be present. The “Teatime Basket” will be exclusive to the event, and tickets for it will be sold only at the tea.

Although this is not intended to be a period costume event, guests are encouraged to get out their hats, gloves, and other special occasion attire and enjoy an afternoon of dressing up!

Tickets are $25 each and are on sale at Chester Branch Library. There are only 50 tickets available, so purchase yours now before they are sold out. Our 2019 event was most delightful and received rave reviews, so we anticipate that this year will be no different.
