Friends of the Library announce big book sale

Submitted by Stephanie Leaf

Clear some space on your bookshelves because rain or shine, the next big Friends of the Library book sale is almost here!

Mark your calendar for

Thursday, April 13, 2-6 p.m. (Friends’ Members only)

Friday, April 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The sale will feature a large selection of gently used books, CDs, and other media, all perfect for your afternoon or evening’s entertainment or relaxation.

The first day of the sale is reserved for MEMBERS ONLY, but don’t despair if you’re not currently a member. You can purchase or renew your Friends’ membership on the spot. An annual membership costs only $10 per person and entitles you to premier browsing rights at the sale.

Better yet, buy a lifetime membership for $100 per person and guarantee yourself this privilege for…well… a lifetime! (Please note, both annual and lifetime memberships are PER PERSON, not per family.)

You can also purchase Friends’ memberships as gifts for others. Friends’ memberships make great birthday gifts for anyone in your life who loves to read and cares about their community.

The sale will be held as usual in the Community Room of the Plumas County Library in Quincy and there are many new and interesting books for you to choose from. For your browsing ease, non-fiction books are organized by category and hardback and paperback fiction are in alphabetical order by author.

As always, children’s books are free, and you and your children are invited to select 20 free books per family. Weather permitting, all children’s books will be displayed outside on the library porch.

Although we welcome your donations of gently used books, we can’t accept donations during the sale itself.  If you have books or media you’d like to donate AFTER the sale, please call Bev McColm at 530-283-3997. Also, please be sure that books donated at any time comply with our book donation guidelines posted at the library. NEVER under any circumstances leave boxes of books on the porch.

For a copy of our donation guidelines, email us at [email protected]. You can also visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/quincyfriendslibrary/

The Quincy Friends of the Library appreciate your continuing support and look forward to seeing you at the sale.
