From the Principal’s Desk for the week of 10/2/19
Principal’s Homework
2019-2020
For students and parents/guardians taking my suggestion to read 20 minutes a night for any 4 days of the week as a special family reading time, here’s an interesting newsletter talking about the benefits of reading to your child each day. happyyouhappyfamily.com/raising-smart-kids/.
Upcoming conferences
Parent conferences are coming soon, Oct 7-11. School will be dismissed at 1 p.m. each day. Please do your best to attend — we are striving for 100 percent attendance.
Scheduling siblings together
Teachers will be working to schedule siblings close together this week. Please be on the lookout for a scheduled time. If your scheduled time does not work, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule another time. Thanks!
School Store CES fundraiser
This year CES has signed up for a fairly easy fundraiser. We can earn money if friends and family go online shopping at stores like WalMart, Kohls, Target, Best Buy and other major retailers, which will give back 1-10 percent of the total purchase back to CES.
A packet came home in last Monday folders. If you didn’t see the packet you can visit www.schoolstore.net, and use #574 to support CES’ fundraiser. We will be using these funds to support our music program and other enrichment activities.
As an incentive, School Store promotes a “Golden Ticket” prize to 1 student who signs up (completely free). The Golden Ticket is worth $100, and we were just notified it’s still out there! Please sign up today. Students can bring their envelope in with their sign up number and get a little prize from the front office. Thanks for participating!
Swing shift available
We have a 5-hour custodial position available. Know anyone looking for part time swing shift work (3-8 p.m. or 4-9 p.m. weekdays)? Benefits are available. If interested, please visit the following website, and we appreciate any help in getting the word out. Thanks!

CES Data Confirmation & Authorization Forms
Each year, families are required to log in to their Aeries portal to review and confirm data and authorization forms. Please complete this process at your earliest convenience.
You can access this confirmation process through our returning students portal from our Plumas website: www.pcoe.k12.ca.us. Click on “enrollment” on the right side of the main screen then follow the instructions for returning students.
We’re offering a special prize incentive to the class who has everyone complete their data confirmation first. So far, Ms. Twitchell’s, Ms. O’Kelley’s, Ms. Whalen’s, Ms. Geer’s, Ms. Tantardino’s classes are almost finished, so act now!
CJHS Cheer Camp
Oct. 7th through the 11th, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the high school we’ll be offering CJHS Cheer Camp for a $45 fee with practice for the week.
We need Cheering at the game and at half time on Friday.
