From the Principals Desk for the week of 3/18/20
Greetings CES Families & Friends
Now with Daylight Savings Time in effect, we will have more daylight after school!
March is designated as Women in History
Please check out the link in your emailed newsletter dedicated to women in history this month. There are many inspirational stories to hopefully motivate our young CES students! Thanks!
Spice Camp
Please check out the summer opportunities for students through Spice Camp. Ms. Connie does a great job for us at CES, and I hear these camps are outstanding opportunities for young people.
Tech Savvy
Check out the links in your digital newsletter from Josh at Smart Social. Hopefully this helps keep our students safe during their screen time.
Student health
We are working closely with our nurses and public health officials to monitor potential sicknesses, including flu and coronavirus.
We are also taking extra precautions to sanitize our school each day. Although we want all of our students at school each day, if your child is not feeling well (ex. fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) please keep him/her home to get healthy and prevent exposure to other students and staff.
Also, there’s an informative 2-minute video from CBS’s Dr. Lapook on the Corona virus. Thanks!
March focus on responsibility
I’ve provided a couple links regarding some activities you can provide at home to help teach your child the importance of responsibility.
Please check them out or other resources and have a conversation with your child this month about the importance of being responsible at home and at school. Thanks!
“Boon” sale
Ms. Tantardino’s 5th graders are sponsoring a fundraising “Boon” sale.
Buy a variety of items online.
My Body Belongs To Me
Michelle Ridley with Plumas Crisis and Intervention Resource Center will provide a 30-40 minute presentation on March 26 to all of our K-3 students about protecting themselves.
If you do not want your child to participate, please sign a copy of the letter available at the main office, and return to your child’s teacher.
In closing, we appreciate your ongoing support and teaming with us to make 2019-2020 an exceptional elementary experience for our students. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
