From the Principals Desk for the week of 3/4/20
Greetings CES Families & Friends
Happy March! This month is designated as Women in History Month. We believe it’s important to showcase some amazing accomplishments from women and want to promote women in history this month.
Our Assistant Superintendent, Ms. Kristy Warren, has provided some resources for us. Please check out the newsletter dedicated to women in history this month. Thanks!
Spice Camp
Please check out the summer opportunities for students through Spice Camp. Ms. Connie does a great job for us at CES, and I hear these camps are outstanding opportunities for young people.
Little League sign ups
Please also check out the Little League information on sign ups and tryouts. Flyers with details are hanging up at school.
We want to see our students busy with productive, enriching activities. Thank you community members and parents for making these opportunities available for our students!
Tech Savvy
Check out the links printed in our weekly newsletter and online from Josh at Smart Social. Hopefully this helps keep our students safe during their computer screen time.
Student health
Our Plumas Public Health Agency has a website with lots of useful information. Please take a moment to review their website link and learn more about some health alerts for our area.
We are working closely with our nurses and public health officials to monitor potential sicknesses, including the seasonal flu and Coronavirus.
We are also taking extra precautions to sanitize our school each day. Although we want all of our students at school each day, if your child is not feeling well (example: fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) please keep him/her home to get healthy and prevent exposure to other students and staff. Thanks!
Focus on Responsibility
Our March character focus is on Responsibility. I’ve provided a couple links online regarding some activities you can provide at home to help teach your child the importance of responsibility.
Please check them out or other resources and have a conversation with your child this month about the importance of being responsible at home and at school.
“Boon” sale
Ms. Tantardino’s fifth-graders are sponsoring a “Boon” sale. Please check out their online link for further details.
CES PTA Read-a-thon
Our wonderful PTA is sponsoring a read-a-thon to raise money for the many events they do for our CES students.
An online link is available with all of the information.
In summary, Feb. 7-28 students collect pledges, Feb. 29-March 7 students read, March 8-12 students collect from their sponsors, then on March 13 they turn in the pledge sheet and the money.
We hope all of our students are able to participate.
In closing, we appreciate your ongoing support and teaming with us to make 2020 an exceptional elementary experience for our students. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
