Greetings CES Families! We are excited to welcome back all of our CES students today! Please see our newsletter for staffing revisions, class supplies and other pertinent information.
We hope you enjoyed your summer break with your children. While we were busy preparing to welcome back students, a lot of improvements over the summer were done, including painting, new asphalt, new furniture and new carpeting (4 rooms) thanks to the Measure B funds!
Start times in 2019-2020

All Day Kindergarten
We are excited to pilot an all day kindergarten program this school year. School will start at 8:10 a.m., and students will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. (through the front side gate by the K playground) for K students (TK students’ day will be from 8:10 a.m. -12:25 p.m.).
We offered all day K at my previous schools and experienced an academic and social development advantage for students when compared to half-day programs.
Teachers have begun posting their supply lists on Facebook. If you are unable to provide these materials, don’t worry — we will have extra materials. Please see below:
K: backpack (Pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, and glue are also needed at home for homework).

Opportunity: Backpack, ear buds, sanitation wipes.
We have made some revisions for 2019-2020 with our weekly Monday Morning Meetings. Instead, we will be meeting with all students in the gym every other Monday afternoon before our early release.
This will allow the other Mondays for teachers to provide a variety of character lessons and also give classes a monthly opportunity to meet with other classes for a reading or other learning activity (cross age collaboration opportunities). We are excited for these revisions.
A big thanks to Ms. Crowther for her summer work and planning to build an engaging and worthwhile 2019-2020 Monday afternoon schedule!
In closing, we look forward to welcoming all of our students back starting at 8:10 a.m. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to email me or check in with Ms. Nicole Peterson, our wonderful Administrative Assistant.
Our office hours will remain from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Thanks for your support! We enjoy partnering with our parents to provide an exceptional elementary education for all of our students. We appreciate your ongoing support to benefit our students. Please let us know if you have any questions.
