Golf play continues for Graeagle men

The game June 21 at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course for the men was a two-man team game called, “In The Box” plus skins. In this format the better ball on the par 4’s and 3’s is combined with the score made on the par 5 assigned to each player — one par 5 on the front and one par on the back. Sixteen GMGA players participated in the game.
First place with a net score of 64 was a tie between the teams of Mark Yuill/Dennis Flynn and the team of Jim Reynolds/Don Judson. Jumping to the Third-Place ranking, a 3-way tie with net scores of 66 were the teams of Bob Davies/Norm Nichols, Lance Raglen/Tom Fregulia and Dan Anderson/Bob Laxague. Skins were awarded to Bob Laxague with a net 2 on hole 4, Jim Reynolds with a net 3 on hole 5 and Paul Sneft with a net 2 on hole 15.
Twenty-eight players came out for competition on June 23 to compete in a two-man team game called “Pick Nine.” In this format each player’s score must count on 9 holes. After each hole, and before teeing off on the next hole, the team must decide whose score will count toward the team score for the previous hole.
The winning team was Bill Harrison and Dave Macdonald with a net score of 61. Second place was the team of Mark Yuill and Mike Simpson with a net score of 63. Third place was a tie between the teams of Dave Dirking/Andy Knudson and Anthony Miranda/Jeff Monaghan each with a net score of 66.
There were seven skins awarded: Dave Macdonald with a net 2 on 2, Grant Mayfield with a net 1 on 3, Tom Balestri with a net 3 on 7, Bert Bellows with a net 2 on 9, Mike Simpson with a net 1 on 12, Norm Miller two skins with a net 2 on 17 and a net 3 on 18.
