Golfers are on the greens in Graeagle

The beginning of the 2022 golf season for the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association, (GMGA) kicked off April 8. The GMGA members play each Wednesday and Friday in their regular daily events, and on weekends in special Men’s and Couples’ tournaments. The weather was great April 8 for the opener with a high of 68 degrees. Twenty-six players participated in the game of the day which was Individual Low Net and Skins. First Place was Dennis Flynn with a net 67; Second Place was captured by Grant Mayfield with a 68; Third Place went to Nathan Coats with a 70; Ron Eaton earned 4th place with a 71; and, Fifth Place went to George Fraser with a 72. There were seven Skins won. Winners, with one skin each, were Chuck Hein, Bob McIlroy, Dennis Flynn, Jim Reynolds, Burt Bellows, George Fraser, and Steve Harding.

The weather April 13 was not so pleasant. Temperatures never got above 41 degrees. Fortunately, there was little or no wind, which made the day more bearable. Seven brave souls weathered the cold day, while many opted to not play. The game for the day was Individual Low Net and Skins. The winner, with a net score of 76 was Chuck Weidner; Second Place went to Jim Oster with a net 79. One player withdrew after 9 holes and the other four players had the same net score of 81. There were six Skins: Bob McElroy, Bert Bellows, Steve Peterson, Jim Reynolds and Jim Oster each had one Skin.
