The Graeagle Meadows Men’s Golf Club played a few rounds Oct. 14 under extremely excellent blue Plumas County skies. The GMGA grand finale for the season is called The Cross Country, sub-titled The Kinkley Klassic. In this format all the tees are rearranged so the players hit from a temporary tee to an existing tee. Examples are the first hole where you shoot from the first tee to the second green and the 17th hole where the hole starts on the 12th tee and goes backwards to the 7th green, a par 6.

The game format is a 4-person scramble with both GMGA and GMWGA (Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Association) participating. The men’s winning team was Woody Miller, Steve Petersen and Dennis Flynn, who shot a net score of 69. On the women’s side the winning team was Dottie Hattich, Renee Miller, Dee Walker and Jill Slocum, who shot a net 67.

October 16th the game was net 2-man golf with each player playing his own ball and the score is the combination of both players minus their respective handicaps.

There were three skins taken with two of them going to Dan Anderson and one to Dennis Chegwin. Dan took holes 5 and 13 with the scores 3 and 2 respectively and Dennis took hole 1 with a net 1.

Weekly play will continue until “the snow flies or Thanksgiving.” Inquiries about membership in the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association can be submitted to [email protected], or visit website at gmeadowsclubs.com.
