Grant helps women with education costs

Members of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter BO Projects Committee presented Michelle Petrillo with the Program for Education grant in the amount of $1,000 from P.E.O. International on Friday, Nov. 8.

  Petrillo, a Clear Creek resident, is attending an accredited online university.

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, established in 1973, is a need-based grant program providing one-time financial assistance to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification that will improve their marketable skills for employment to support themselves and/or their families.

Chapter BO was established in 1918 and has served women and families of Westwood, Chester and Lake Almanor since that time. The California P.E.O. website is peocalifornia.org or contact a P.E.O. member for more information on continuing education scholarships.
