Graphing COVID cases in Plumas and the state

Special to Plumas News

Plumas County picked up another three coronavirus cases during the past week, continuing our slow climb.  While the county numbers seem quite small in comparison with other jurisdictions, our population total is also quite small.

On the brighter side, we are seeing some very favorable trends at the state level. Even though the total number of accumulated COVID-19 cases in California reached 750,298 by late Friday, Sept.  11, the weekly number of new cases is showing a significant decline.  A similar trend is found in the number of weekly statewide deaths.  We’ll keep our fingers crossed that these trends continue, rather than seeing a surge in a few weeks due to Labor Day holiday activities.
