Graphing this week’s coronavirus cases in Plumas and the state

The Plumas County COVID-19 case load increased by one during the past week, raising our accumulated total to 52 as of Friday, Oct. 9.
Statewide, the number of cases increased by 23,340 during that same period, bringing the total to 842,776 as of the same date. That represents a fairly constant, moderate growth rate for the most recent several weeks. The most encouraging statistic at the state level is a continued decline in the weekly death rate. Last week it dropped to 426, bringing the state total COVID deaths since the start of the pandemic to 16,500.
