Next Wednesday, March 23, the spring Greenville Community Blood Drive will take place between noon and 5:15 p.m. in the Greenville Elementary School cafeteria.

“Many appointments are available, especially in the mid-afternoon. Next week is a perfect time to celebrate the spring renewal of our community with the few hours it takes to donate,” said local coordinator Sherilyn Schwartz.

“Seeing the ‘We’re Rebuilding” signs around town is bringing a fresh optimism of rebirth.  Donating blood also gives uplifting hope and life to those in need. Donations of blood at our drive helps not only cancer patients, but those in an accident that need a blood transfusion, pre-mature babies, and even those with hip-transplants,” said Schwartz.

Vitalant, the non-profit blood organization that comes to communities to provide this service, needs about 216,000 new donors every year to ensure patient needs across the nation are met, in addition to the many who occasionally donate or those who have become lifetime donors.

Call Sheri Schwartz, the local coordinator, at (530) 280-0495 or go online to Vitalant.org to make an appointment for next Wednesday.
