Greenville Indians play to win
The Greenville High volleyball team took on Westwood in Chester on Oct. 12 and won the game 3-0. The set scores were 25-15, 25-9 and a close 25-23 for the last game.
Volcano senior Averie Navarro delivered eight kills to the Westwood Lumberjacks. Freshman Alexis Goodson scored for the Vols with six untouchables.
Senior Kelsey Heard was on fire serving up nine aces to the Lumberjacks, Navarro served three. Narvarro was in the thick of the action, credited with 16 digs during the game and Ashlyn Bustamante had 11. Bustamante was the lead serve receiver with 11 and Narvarro picked up eight.
The Greenville Indians have been playing fiercely this season and have a record of 9-9 overall and 3-0 in league play so far this year.
With just a few games left in the season, the Volcanoes will meet the Lumberjacks again, this time in Westwood, on Thursday, Oct. 19. Then it’s off to Loyalton on Tuesday, Oct. 24, and the last game of the season is against Herlong and will be played on the Chester High School court Thursday, Oct. 26, at 5:30 p.m.
