The Rotary Club of Greenville wants to help students in Indian Valley get the training they need to contribute to their community. With that goal in mind, Rotary members are pleased to announce that the club will be presenting multiple scholarships in 2020 to graduates of Indian Valley high schools who plan to pursue an academic or vocational education.

Accredited four-year universities or two-year community colleges will qualify, and so will accredited vocational schools where students may pursue such fields as lineman, welding and culinary arts, plumbing and other vocations.

The highest award will be a Distinguished Student Renewable Scholarship for one 2020 grad in the amount of $1,000 per year for up to four years.

The next level will be one-year Distinguished Student Scholarships for 2020 grads in the amount of $500 or $1,000.

The club will present as many scholarships at this level as it has funding for. Already pledged is $2,000 in this category and Greenville Rotary expect that number to grow.

Finally, Greenville Rotary will present one Alumni Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a previous graduate of an Indian Valley high school who is either continuing his or her education or is going back to school to pursue an academic or vocational education. There is no age limit for this scholarship.

These scholarships may be awarded based on need or merit. Students who have a good academic record as well as students who have financial need are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship deadlines

Distinguished Student Scholarship applications must be turned in to Indian Valley high school offices before those offices close Friday, May 22.

The Alumni Scholarship application must be sent to Greenville Rotary at P.O. Box 207, Greenville, CA 95947, and postmarked by Monday, May 18.
