Groundhog Fest seeks vendors, chili contestants

In preparation for the Groundhog Fever Festival scheduled Saturday, Feb. 1, the Quincy Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors, chili cook-off contestants and volunteers.

The seventh annual event will take place at the Plumas County Courthouse, 521 Main St., in Quincy from 1 to 5 p.m.

In years past, the event drew a large crowd of festival-goers wishing to shake off the winter blues. With live music, a chili cook-off, libations, entertainment, and of course, the weather prediction of world-famous groundhog Chuck Wood, the event is sure to be a good family-friendly time.

Booths cost $25 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space, and are free for nonprofits. The cost to enter the chili cook-off is $25. Winners of the Peoples’ Choice and Judge’s Choice award will split the entry fees, and receive a trophy and bragging rights. A special trophy for best-decorated booth will also be handed out.

Those wishing to table a booth or enter the chili cook-off can pick up a registration form at The Toy Store or fill out an online form at www.quincychamber.com/groundhog-fever-festival. For more information, call (310) 569-1403.
