State Route 36 remains closed in the areas affected by the Dixie Fire west of Susanville (see map below). Despite the fire no longer being active in this area, the road closure will remain in place to continue to provide timely ingress and egress of Fire Resources fighting the Dixie Fire in other areas.
During this time, Caltrans District 2 and its contractors will also be making emergency repairs in fire-damaged areas so that roadways and infrastructure are safe for emergency crews, residents, and the traveling public. Emergency work includes large areas of hazard tree removal, guardrail and culvert repairs as well as other operations.
Caltrans District 2 and it’s contractors would like to thank the local communities and traveling public for their continued patience as vital repairs continue to be made along State Route 36.
