HipShakers to release new CD, perform at the Drunk Brush on Friday

HipShakers will be performing songs from their soon-to-be released CD at the Drunk Brush this Friday. CD cover submitted

Popular local band “HipShakers” will perform at The Drunk Brush (in Grover Alley) in Quincy on Friday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. but come early and enjoy a beverage before the band plays. Along with much of their familiar material, the band will play songs from their soon-to-be-released album.  Unforeseen production delays have pushed the release date back to late August, but that won’t be a deterrent to a night of dancing and hip shaking.

HipShakers consists of lead vocalist and bass player Tom van Rossem, guitarist Gordon Wilson, drummer Michael Ray and guitarist Bill Boggio. The band has been together for nearly four years and has played many local venues. Tom and Bill have been playing together in various bands for 31 years. Gordon has not only been playing with Tom and Bill for over 20 years, he’s been a fixture on the local music scene since the 1970’s. Michael Ray has been with HipShakers since its inception and brings years of rock-steady power to the group.

The band plays a high-energy mixture of Blues and Rock that is perfect for dancing the night away. Bring your dancing shoes because these guys rock!

You can hear HipShakers’ CD on KQNY beginning next Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2.
