Hopping into spring in Graeagle at the annual Easter Egg Hunt
A large crowd of excited children and their families turned out for the annual Graeagle Easter Egg hunt, which was held on Saturday, April 8 at Graeagle’s Herb Rowe Park.
As in prior years, egg hunt heats were divided up into various age groups; 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10 and up. Organizers reminded everyone hunting to be on the lookout for the highly coveted golden eggs, which would mean a special prize of $20 for the finder. With bursts of energy and laughter, the kids went wild in every age heat and picked the park clean of each and every egg in a matter of minutes. The finders of the golden eggs then lined up to receive their prizes and take a photo with the Easter Bunny and Chickens.
The Easter Bunny also raffled off a 100-year Reno Rodeo anniversary poster, a 2023 Reno Rodeo belt buckle, and four box seats for one night to the 2023 Reno Rodeo, amongst other items donated by various Graeagle Merchants.
Winners of the prizes were announced as Dylan Henschel, who won a $20 Feathers gift certificate, Taco Brisco, winner of a gift certificate to The Peak, as well as Kelsey Hinds, Michele Skupic, Tami Kaskie, and Marshal Thompson, who all won a $25 gift card to Gumba’s.
Shawn Rafoth won a gift certificate to Lena’s Cantina, and a Plumas Eureka Fire Department golf shirt went to ‘Verna and Gary.’ Lorraine Noble won a Knotty Pine Tavern tee shirt and beanie, and Carol Yeater won a Mohawk Tavern sweatshirt and beanie. Jason Crocker was the winner of a Mohawk Tavern combo and Shawn and Andrea Rafoth won three jars of black garlic from Pine Cone Kitchen. Jessica Smith won the Reno Rodeo belt buckle, Steve Foard won the Reno Rodeo framed poster, and Dale Folchi won four VIP box seat tickets for the 2023 Reno Rodeo.
Graeagle Restaurant, who sponsors the annual event, would like to thank Graeagle Land and Water in addition to the many volunteers and business owners who have helped make this event possible.
