Lake Almanor Chamber welcomes new board member
The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce has been very busy over the last few weeks providing leadership in an area response to many folks affected by the Camp Fire.
As that emergency starts to wind down the board of directors used their first meeting of 2019 to address some of the future goals they have planned for the year.
Joining the board this year is previous chamber member Kacie Holland. Holland is rejoining LAACC as a member and elected as a board member under a new business classification.
She is now a Realtor-Associate with Lake Almanor Brokers and is excited about the direction LAACC is going and wants to be involved.
One of the undertakings is to revive the idea of welcoming new residents to the community with a Welcome Wagon-style basket that will include contact information for local businesses, churches and services.
Besides the continuation of the open “Town Talk” format for what used to be called chamber mixers, the board is initiating a new undertaking called “Town Walks.” Town Walks are intended to continue efforts to understand the needs of local businesses and to educate the community about what services are available from the LAACC.
If you are a business owner in the Basin, keep an eye out as the chamber members visit to ask about your ideas and concerns.
Another new venture will present the Lake Almanor community to other areas as chamber members represent this community at trade shows in both Chico and Reno.
