Lake Almanor Poker Paddle is back

The Fourth Annual Lake Almanor Poker Paddle is back!  This popular event on the water is open to all non-motorized boats – kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards.

Paddlers leave Plumas Pines at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, and follow either a 5 or 8 mile out-and-back course.  Along the way they visit five rest stops – all floating boats just off shore – to pick up a poker chip for their poker hand, snacks, and water.  They turn in their poker hand card at the finish line, also at Plumas Pines, where lunch greets finishers while they await the results of the Poker Run.  Cash prizes will be given for first and second place and the worst hand will receive gift certificates from local merchants.

The first 100 paddlers will receive a UV shirt, so register early online to ensure you get one. Gather Home will be on hand to sell the popular Lake Girl wear, and Kona Shave Ice will be there selling great Shave Ice from their new food truck.

Online registration is through Eventbrite, and can be accessed by going to the ARPD website (yourarpd.org) and clicking on the link to the Poker Paddle Event. Check-in and day-of registration begins at 7:00am. Only cash and checks accepted on same day registration.

Come join us for a beautiful, relaxing day on the water!
