Letter to the Editor: Job well done on tourism district
Just read the article about the formation of the Feather River Tourism Management District and want to tell all those involved in getting this district underway that their efforts are appreciated. (And extra kudos to everyone for sticking it out—it was a long process, and they persevered to the end!)
Ever since the county tourism bureau was eliminated, we’ve been concerned that Plumas County wasn’t getting the attention it deserves from travelers both in and out of state. The research done by the folks who pressed to get this accomplished suggests that it will pay off in the long run, and we have no doubt that increased tourism will benefit all residents here, not just lodging operators and others who provide services to tourists.
Job well done, and hey, the timing might be perfect if we can get this pandemic behind us. Once people feel safe traveling again, let’s hope they discover Plumas County.
