Letter to the Editor: Regarding the asphalt plant

It would be good to hear from CalTrans about this. I get that everyone wants it in someone else’s backyard but what CalTrans could interject is that the asphalt has to be a certain temperature when it’s placed, that makes it pretty much impossible to have the plant miles away in someone else’s backyard. If you’re concerned about the river and you should be how about the railroad that runs along the river, I would put the odds on the trains polluting the river long before the asphalt plant thats not right at the rivers edge. Let them fix the roads.
