I have heard discussion that the firefighters on the Dixie Fire have made mistakes, burned incorrectly, etc. I humbly suggest that these rumor mongers SHUT UP! Unless you have spent time on the fireside in the past several years and been a member of an incident management team, you have no clue what you are talking about.
The conditions this year are completely unique, the management teams (who are working 16 hours a day) and the on the ground firefighters are doing a fabulous job in the worst conditions imaginable! And this with no major injuries, a testament to everyone’s skill and leadership ability.
So everyone in Plumas County, sitting on your rear end second guessing the professionals, get up and do something to thank them, and pray for their safety.
