Letter to the Editor: Sly, as the foxes …

The latest news about the local foxes was that three of the varmints were caught and were diagnosed as carriers of the rabies virus.

Rabies is an infectious, normally fatal disease, normally found in canine animals, like foxes and dogs.

The virus attacks the brain and nervous system and is capable of being transmitted to humans, like so many other types of virus type illnesses.

The law requires that all pet dogs to be vaccinated against the rabies virus, and for good reasons.

The three foxes are probably dead by now.

The cause of death: They were not vaccinated!!
