Letter to the Editor: So grateful for those who honored my dad’s service

A BIG THANK YOU to Scott & Susan Arterburn, Pat Fruchtenicht, and the VFW for making sure my dad’s grave had an American Flag on it for Memorial Day.  In fact, you guys are so good, there were TWO flags!
My parents didn’t put anything on their headstone to indicate my dad’s service in the United States Air Force, and I never thought about it until the last few years.  It’s always a good reminder to see the flags on the gravesites, and I appreciate the effort of Scott, Susan, Pat, and the VFW to make sure my dad’s gravesite was included this year, and, I imagine, will be from now on.
We are BLESSED to live in the greatest country in the world.  It’s good to remember and honor those who served to make it so and to be encouraged to stand up and fight for our FREEDOMS like they did.
Even though not all died while serving, they were willing to give that ultimate sacrifice.
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
