Library book sale offers something for everyone

The Quincy Friends of the Plumas County Library invites the community to attend the book sale Aug. 1 through 3. Quincy Friends has lots of great donations to select from for your summer reading enjoyment.

The non-fiction books are organized by category and hardback and paperback fictions are in alphabetical order. Quincy Friends will also be holding a silent auction for some special books. Children are invited to select 20 books per family free.

Bring your own reusable bag to carry your books home.

The book sale schedule is:

– Thursday, Aug. 1, 2-6 p.m. Members day.

– Friday, Aug. 2, 10-6 p.m. Open to the public.

– Saturday, Aug. 10-2 p.m. Open to the public.

Friends would like to invite everyone to renew their memberships or sign up to become a new member. Members get first chance to select books on Thursday during the special member only day. This is a wonderful gift idea for a friend or family member. Annual membership is January through December and is only $10. A lifetime membership is $100.

Proceeds from the book sales provide direct support to the Quincy Library. Your donations purchase books for youth and adults, fund the summer reading program and increase the DVD library. The book sale provides books to the school and college libraries free of charge. Books remaining after the end of the sale are available free or for a donation on the library porch for a few days.

It is amazing how many books make their way into homes in this age of digital media. Books are alive and well!

Quincy Friends welcomes anyone who would like to help at the sale. Many hands make short work of sorting and organizing books.
