Local Church makes donation to Helping Hands

Steve DeWitt, representative of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, presents checks totaling $1,500 to Helping Hands Food Bank in Chester on Jan 24. Volunteers Bob and Louise Osborne, and Chris Sellers were thrilled to receive the donation. They said Helping Hands needs to purchase food items that are not normally supplemented by other local donors. Helping Hands accepts nutritional food for the needy in the Chester/Lake Almanor Basin and is located in the Wesleyan Church at Frost Ave. and Gay St., Chester. Their hours for accepting donations and distributing food are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1 to 3 p.m. Volunteers, food and monetary donations are always happily accepted.
