Lost and Found Gravel Festival is less than a week away

The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship eagerly anticipates the upcoming Gravel Festival in Portola on the weekend of June 3. “Thank You, residents and business owners of Portola for welcoming the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship’s annual Lost & Found Gravel Festival to your town,” organizers said. “We hope you’ll come out and enjoy the good times with us. We still need volunteers to help on the course and in town.”

Roads to be used in the Lost & Found Bike Ride on Saturday, June 3, 2023

Portola: ● 1st Stto 3rd St on South Gulling St will be closed starting at Sat, Jun 3 6:00am-6:00pm ● 3rd St. to 4th St. on South Gulling St. will be closed starting at Saturday, June 3 from 6:00 am-9:00 am ● Taylor Ave between South Gulling and South Pine St will have traffic control from 7 am to 6 pm ● E. Riverside Ave, Rocky Point Road and the Portola Bike Path will have traffic control ● There will be multiple Lead-Out Vehicles (CHP, Portola PD, SBTS) leaving from Portola City Park on South Gulling St toward SR-70. Riders will continue west on SR-70, then turn right on West Street for .9 miles to De Persia Street, where traffic will be controlled by Course Marshalls alerting vehicle traffic and waving racers through. At the intersection of West Street and De Persia Street, CHP will be picking up speed in order to stay in front of the peloton at race pace.

CHP will continue ahead of the peloton through the intersection of Lake Davis Road and Grizzly Road and to the left turn onto Crocker Road.

Beckwourth: New Street and Frontage Road will have traffic control.

Plumas County: Roads 111, 113 and 126 will have traffic control.

Forest Service Roads: 24N06, 25N05, 28N01, 26N70, 26N04, 28N03, 25N11, 28NO8X, 28NO8Y, 24N23, 24N32 will have traffic control.
