Love Fest: Belly dance student showcase and DJ dance party to be held in Quincy on Friday, February 17

All are invited to come dance and celebrate love, art, music and community on Friday, February 17 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Quincy Veteran’s Hall located at 274 Lawrence Street at a belly dance showcase and DJ dance party. The suggested donation per person is $10 or ‘pay-what-you-can’. No special wardrobe or date required – there is plenty of love, positive people, proper hugs, contagious laughter and only the best vibes get in the door. Our vision for the night is to reunite community of all levels, to create a comfortable atmosphere so that you may “let your hair down” and dance. “We have had a stormy winter and with spring time right down the block, we would love to share this opportunity and get you out with us and shake things up a bit,” said Rosa Bair of Rosa Bair Productions. Bair is honored to showcase a few of the DJ’s that work hand in hand with Audio Addicts Anonymous as well as some free agent OG’s, DJs that have locally been spreading smiles through sound since before Y2K.

The evening features bass, house and electronic music by BairBeats, Trippy, Ducky, iAM and Saint Jimmy. “We’ve put together a great line-up of artists that each bring a unique flavor to the dance floor, which elevates the overall experience to a whole new level of proper. This sound system is guaranteed to blow your mind. Combined with 4k projection and top-end lazer lighting is everything needed to make you get up and wiggle your back fat. We are working together and sharing the goal of making our Valentine’s Day celebration a magical one. Let’s boogie!” Bair said.

The show’s scheduled performances, the massive sound, the lighting, the ambiance and decorations are brought to you by Rosa Bair Productions. in collaboration with Entertainment53O, Audio Addicts and Rosa Del Fuego. There is no age minimum, but please be advised of explicit lyrics for mature audience.

This special event is hosted by Rosa Bair Productions, a partnership of Rayen “Rosa Del Fuego” and Tyler “Bair Beats.” The couple is well-known for hosting spinjams and fire dancing circles at the Veterans Hall and Fairgrounds. They just returned from Gem and Jam Music Festival in Tucson, Arizona where they participated with music and dance with Emerald Bass collective from Tahoe and kids circus activities with The Riley Rainbow Circus. A spinjam is an opportunity to practice “flow arts” including poi, hula hoops, fans, staff spinning and other glow props to fun music. This special art event will feature live painting by Trixie Hollyhox and Meagan Brennan, and vending of acrylic LED art by VibeCraft.

On Friday, February 17, Rayen “Rosa Del Fuego” will be teaching Intro to Silk Veil Fans Workshop at 8:00 p.m. and performing Metal Fusion Belly Dance with her student showcase at 9:00 p.m. She teaches Cardio Belly Dance on Mondays at the Quincy Grange Hall, and will be hosting fire dancing and flow arts classes this year. She has been teaching weekly since late August, and is excited to debut the first student belly dance showcase. This winter, Plumas County Public Health sponsored her tour of classes in Portola, Quincy, Greenville and Chester. She has performed with Quircus the Quincy Circus since 2015, with Sacred Fire Dance Sacramento since 2008 and was a member of three tribal belly dance troupes. Her dance experience includes spinning fire fans, fire eating sideshow, belly dancing, sword balancing and stiltwalking at carnivals, corporate events and parties around Northern California. She enjoys sharing joy, wonder, and amazement through performing arts.
