Mandatory evacuation for East Shore Lake Almanor
A mandatory evacuation order has been issued at 12:50 p.m. today for all residences on the East Shore of Lake Almanor, both sides of Highway 147. This includes the intersection of Highway 147 at A13 east to Little Dyer Mountain, southeast to include Dyer Mountain and south to Highway 89 due to the Dixie Fire. Residents are asked to leave immediately.
The current evacuation center at the Chester Memorial Hall in Chester is under an evacuation warning though it remains open at this time, and the Sheriff’s Office is working to reactivate the evacuation center at Lassen Community College in Susanville.
